Vehicle Access to Bald Eagle Lake is Closed

Ramsey County has closed all vehicle access to Bald Eagle Lake in White Bear Township until further notice.

The sheriff’s office said that thin ice and open water caused two incidents this week where vehicles broke through the ice.  The county is also asking that people stay off the lake altogether since it’s not quite safe.

Skinner Named to Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District

Ramsey County Launches Website to Promote Active Lifestyles

Ramsey County is offering a new way to promote active lifestyles for residents.

The county has launched a web mapping portal that shows all of the places that Ramsey County residents and visitors can be active in the county. Users can search for information about parks, lakes, trails, and recreational activities.

HealthEast Care Systems Offers Free Health Screenings Throughout Metro

A local health care organization is hosting free health screenings for women throughout the month of February.

HealthEast Care System is sponsoring the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign. Screenings will look at total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, and body mass index.

WEB FORECAST: Light Snowfall Should End Before Evening Commute

A light snowfall will last into the afternoon, but should end before the Friday evening commute.

KSTP.com Meteorologist Patrick Hammer predicts snowfall totals will be light with 1/2" to 1". Areas north of the Twin Cities toward Brainerd may see up to 2".
